In 1980, Mr. Ravi S. Mandrekar started the office at Tardeo, Mumbai as a company for Project Design Consultancy and Project Management services. He started the office after 13 years of experience in the field of Civil and Structural Engineering, as well as in the coordination of various engineering services and project management.

In 1986, a second office started operations in Pune for ease of functionality when there were several projects being executed in Pune.

In 2006, Dr. Jaswant N. Arlekar and Ms. Shreya Mandrekar joined the company as Associate Consultants after having worked previously with Mr. Mandrekar's offices for short durations early in their careers.

In 2008, the Pune and the Tardeo, Mumbai offices were closed and operations began at a new location - in Shivaji Park, Mumbai. The office continues to offer project consultancy services with associate consultants with civil/structural being our core competency. Handled in house are analysis and design of new structures, renovation, repair, retrofitting and restoration of existing structures, project consultancy and, project management services.

In 2017, the company was converted to a partnership firm with Dr. Arlekar and Mr. Mandrekar as partners, under the name R. S. Mandrekar & Associates.
